Knowledge, Skills and Ability Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of oral hygiene and periodontal care. Knowledge of public health, social and economic factors that impact the health and oral health of patients. Knowledge of dental emergencies. The ability to travel to other CHCB locations as necessary. The University of Vermont Medical Center is located in Burlington, Vermont, a small vibrant city situated on the shore of beautiful Lake Champlain. The Opportunity: The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a residency-trained dentist to join our clinical dental residency faculty team. The selected candidate will lead a busy and collegial general practice dental residency program as Program Director half time and half time as a residency faculty practicing dentist in our dental and oral health office. The position requires clinical focus on general dentistry, collaborative relationships with dental and medical specialties, and vision to optimize training in general dentistry. The Program Director has authority and accountability for the operation and administration of this GPR under the umbrella of Graduate Medical. The General Practice Residency program at the University of Vermont Medical Center consists of four dental residents for a one-year program. The dental residency director provides clinical supervision and back up for dental residents, as appropriate and assigned, for their dental care delivery. The Director agrees to show dedicated time of 20 hours per week or more to the residency, the remainder of the time will be clinical practice. Experience/Education: The successful candidate shall have a DDS or DMD degree; Experience in dental education (two years) and general dentistry practice (two years minimum, five years preferred), administrative leadership, and teaching expertise are encouraged. The candidate must have completed an accredited General Practice Residency program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry program.
